Seven years ago, Daniel Michels arrived in Luxembourg without knowing anyone—and without anyone knowing him. What followed was a journey shaped by uncertainty, study, creation, resilience and belief.

At the Karlspreis – Charlemagne Prize in Aachen, H.R.H. the Grand Duke told the Emblem founder that he knew of Daniel's work and the Luxembourg Passport at Emblem: Digital Souvenirs, and congratulated him on the project.

The exchange was brief, but for Daniel it carried the weight of the years behind it: the work done without certainty, the ideas tested and refined, the challenges faced, and the decision to keep moving forward.

Luxembourg offered Daniel an opportunity, and he chose to take it. Every challenge has helped shape both the person he is becoming and the project that continues to grow.
