World Expos show that countries and territories can share one space while preserving distinct cultures and identities. Emblem continues that experience through digital Pavilions, GPS-verified digital souvenirs, connected cultural Passports and one continuing personal collection.

Emblem applies the Pavilion and passport experience of World Expos to the real world: each country or territory is represented as a Pavilion, its cultural places hold collectible digital souvenirs by Emblem creators, and connected passports organise each journey inside one continuing collection.

Why Emblem exists

Outside temporary global events, people often encounter other countries mainly through politics, conflict, stereotypes or content selected by opaque digital platforms. Emblem offers another perspective through places, art, food, architecture, landscapes, language, science, traditions and lived memories.

Daniel Michels experienced this possibility at Expo 2020 Dubai, where countries divided by political rivalry stood side by side sharing culture, innovation and ideas for peace. Emblem carries that feeling beyond a temporary event.

How Emblem works

Countries and territories become digital Pavilions. Visitors reach real landmarks, museums, neighbourhoods and landscapes to collect GPS-verified Emblems, while cultural Passports organise routes that remain connected through one continuing collection.

Inspired by World Expo

The Eiffel Tower, built for the 1889 Exposition Universelle, demonstrates how an Expo legacy can become part of a place. Emblem turns that history into a digital souvenir collected at the real landmark.

The Emblem logo carries the same origin. Its framed perspective is based on the entry portals of Expo 2020 Dubai, turning an architectural threshold into a digital gateway to place, art and culture.

Why it matters

Visitors discover places through digital souvenirs and physical exploration. Destinations can connect major landmarks with smaller sites and preserve event legacies. Emblem creators and communities gain attribution, context and visibility tied to the culture and place represented.

By opening on a map of the real world and organising discovery geographically, Emblem helps make countries and communities more familiar, human and difficult to reduce to stereotypes.
